Hebrews 7:22-25 “by so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: but this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
One day a soldier entered the office of President Lincoln and sat down among 50 others waiting to see the president. While he was waiting, a little boy named Tad came in and noticed a man dressed as a soldier and of course that took his fancy, so he talked to the man. The man showed him his empty sleeve, he had lost an arm in the war. The soldier told the boy some interesting stories and then the little fellow asked the soldier what he wanted. He said he wanted to see the president. Tad said “the president is my daddy! I’ll get you in “said tad, then he ran off. A secretary came out and told all those waiting that the president didn’t have time to see anybody. All the people got up except the soldier, the secretary told him it was useless to wait. He replied, but the president’s son was here, and he went in to see his father to ask if I may come in. The secretary said “do you mean little tad? Then you will get in to see the president all right’.
But I know something so much better! If the son has gone into the father for you, you will get in. There’s no doubt. Hebrews 8:6 says “but now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” When two parties had a difference, a mediator was appointed to arbitrate their difference. A mediator is also a negotiator. He must perfectly represent both parties and do what was necessary to bring them into agreement. As the God-man Jesus fulfilled this role between us and God, He perfectly represented both and in the atonement work provided the means necessary for reconciliation

- Have you been to the cleaners lately? {spiritually speaking}
- Do you feel inadequate to come into His presence? 1 John 2:12 “I write unto you, little children, your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.” Isaiah 43:25 “ I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”
- Daily intercession is at our disposal, are we exercising His provision for forgiveness?
