Are You Executing God's Plan?

Hebrews 10:24-25 - “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
You have likely heard the interpretation of these verses as a reason to be faithful to church. Assembling together is important, but we should let love be the motivating factor in our attendance.
Church attendance is beneficial in two ways for the Christian. First, to motivate us to do good works, and second because each Sunday we’re getting closer to Christ’s return.
The giant redwood trees in California are considered the largest things on earth because they’re the tallest trees in the world. Some of them are 300 feet tall and over 2500 years old. One would think that trees so large would have a tremendous root system reaching down hundreds of feet into the earth. The redwoods actually have a very shallow root system, but they are all intertwined. They are locked to each other. When the storms come or the winds blow, the redwoods stand. Because they are locked, all the trees support and protect each other.
God’s plan in Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Jesus is the founder of the church and it was His plan to move away from the temple institutions. Now through the Holy Spirit’s presence, God would literally dwell within His people.
As the apostles fulfilled the Great Commission by traveling to the uttermost part of the earth, they established local churches. The church would become the institution through which God would reach the world.
When constructing a building it first begins with the architect. He takes all the information such as the plot for the land and formulates a plan for the building. He makes a master blueprint that describes every measurement and all the materials to be used in the construction.
The contractor then comes in and executes the plan. The contractor's job isn’t about making changes. If the plan fails, it’s the architect's fault. If the construction isn’t done to the standard the prints call for, it’s the contractor’s fault.
As followers of Christ, we are not in the planning or architectural business. God designed the plan; we are only called to execute it. His plan cannot fail because Matthew 28:20 says, “lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” He empowers us to do the work by His Holy Spirit.
So put on your Christian armor, and let’s go to work, evangelizing wherever God has put you. Then baptize converts and teach them whatsoever He has commanded us.
