Don't Worry, I Got This

Matthew 6:11 - "And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would."
Every night when my wife prepares dinner, she will ask me the same question. “Is this going to be enough?” I hear that question all the time.
Here in Japan meat is very expensive. A whole chicken costs about $20. I don’t even know how much it would cost to get a chuck roast or anything that size because I have never checked. Meat is very expensive!
And so, we try to do what a Japanese person would do. They prepare many kinds of vegetables, and then, a lot of rice. Once all the protein and vegetables are gone they will fill up on rice. Our family makes a lot of rice! Every night we prepare the food, and, at dinnertime, everyone takes what they want. The funny thing is after dinner we go to look and see what is left, and all the rice has been eaten and there is still some food left in the pots and pans.
There are times in our lives when we are faced with a difficult situation, and we feel lost. We are not sure how to handle the situation. However, the Bible tells us that we can rest assured that our God will take care of us. He says, “Don’t worry, I got this.” There are three things to consider when you feel lost in these difficult situations.
God Sees The Need
John 6:5 - “When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”
In Japan, we speak to many people that believe in Shintoism. In Shintoism, there are many gods, and they believe that these gods are apathetic. As long as they believe that they have not upset the gods, people live like they don’t exist. Our God is not that way, He genuinely wants to be a part of our lives. (Is. 41:10)
God Knows What Needs To Be Done
John 6:6b - “…for he himself knew what he would do.”
God does not necessarily see things the way we see them. He knows exactly what is going to happen before it even happens. That is a great reason to put your trust in Him.
God Is Able To Do The Impossible
John 6:11 - “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would."
In Matthew 19:26, Jesus told the disciples that nothing is impossible to God. Knowing that this is the God we serve should encourage us to place our faith in Him.
The classic children’s song “He’s Able” goes like this:
He’s able, He’s able,
I know He’s able,
I know my Lord is able
To carry me through.
He healed the broken-hearted
And set the captive free,
He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see.
He’s able, He’s able,
I know He’s able,
I know my Lord is able
To carry me through.
Whatever we might face today, tomorrow, or in the future, let's be determined to trust our God.
